MUDSA Committee update

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have begun the New Year in good spirits and health. I am pleased to share some positive news with you as we approach mid-February.

This week, I met with club officials, who have confirmed that the club’s support for MUDSA, including financial contributions, will remain unchanged until the end of the 2025/2026 season. This commitment will then be subject to review at that time.

This is positive news as we look to the future and how we can best support our members. To that end, I will release a short questionnaire next week, as promised in my letter on our social media and via email. (We will be happy to print paper copies for those who prefer a pen and paper.) I encourage you all to please answer honestly, as your input will help shape the future priorities and direction of MUDSA. The questionnaire can also be anonymous, so anyone who does not want to put their name to it can still have a voice.

Now that we know our financial standing, we can conduct a review of how we use that money to make the maximum impact. We are also reviewing the MUDSA constitution with the intention of updating it, as it has been in place since 2017.

In other news, the club has conducted a thorough investigation into the Rangers match and has traced how the Away fans were able to obtain tickets. Hospitality was one area, some were transferred tickets by members or ST holders, and if they are found to have knowingly done this, sanctions will be imposed. Touts are another area, and further investigation will be conducted in this area as some may be on the system as members. The reason we have been given for the Rangers fans not being removed is that the Police made the decision that it would have caused a larger issue had they attempted this with the larger groups of Rangers fans. A number of arrests were made, and some fans in smaller groups were removed, but this is something we and the other supporters groups believe needs to be improved in future high-risk games.

Finally, I understand that some of you are missing games due to illness, carer responsibilities, or other valid reasons. The club has informed us that if these are genuine reasons, they will be considerate when reviewing season ticket renewals.

If this applies to you, please contact one of the committee members or email enquiries@mudsa.org.uk so that we can compile a list. Feel free to email about any other concerns you may have.

We strongly recommend that you contact us directly rather than posting about issues on Facebook, as it is possible that we may not see the post on social media.

Thank you,

Rick Clement
