Manchester United Unveil Plans for New Matchday Fan Zone at Old Trafford

Manchester United has announced plans to create its first permanent matchday fan zone at Old Trafford, giving supporters a dedicated space to meet before and after home fixtures.

Named The Paddock, the new fan zone will be located just 15 metres behind the Stretford End, making it the closest gathering point to the stadium. The area will have a capacity of around 1,300 supporters and will be free to enter for all Manchester United match ticket holders on home matchdays.

The Club says the name was chosen following consultation with its Fan Experience Working Group and pays tribute to the historic standing terrace that once stood alongside the famous Stretford End.

The new facility forms part of Manchester United’s partnership with hospitality provider Levy, which is also introducing a number of wider matchday improvements across Old Trafford. These include additional draught beer taps, more self-service bars and an expanded range of food and drink options.

Rick McGagh, Manchester United’s Director of Fan Engagement, said the investment is aimed at giving supporters “greater choice and better service” while continuing to improve the overall atmosphere and fan experience at Old Trafford as plans progress for the Club’s proposed new stadium.

The Paddock is expected to open during the autumn, subject to planning approval.

We’re pleased to see further investment in the matchday experience for supporters and look forward to learning more about how The Paddock will operate in practice.

As with any new facility at Old Trafford, accessibility will be an important consideration. We will be seeking further information from the Club on accessible routes, facilities and how disabled supporters will be able to make full use of the new fan zone on matchdays.
