MUDSA Christmas Party 2019
On December 17th 2019 this years qualifying MUDSA members were invited to Old Trafford for the Christmas Party. This year it was held in the Prestigious Captain’s Lounge where we were surrounded by pictures of the Clubs previous Captain’s. Images of Cantona, Robson and many more greats overlooking us it set the tone for a fantastic day. It was a very special event this year as it marks the 30th Anniversary of MUDSA. Some of you will have already received your Anniversary packs in the post as we take time to commemorate this great achievement.
As always Ann Marie had done a fantastic job of organising the event which included a delicious brunch cooked up by the wonderful catering staff at Old Trafford. After an initial chat by our ever brilliant Master of Ceremonies Mark Jones, everyone had their fill of food and the excitement began to build as the announcement came that the players had left Carrington and were on their way.
Theres many things I enjoy seeing and doing whilst helping on the MUDSA committee but the faces of our members as they meet their heroes has to be by far the best. In particular the young children whose dreams are coming true right at that very moment. It’s truly a sight to behold as the pictures show.
We should thank Manchester United and the players who always make the effort and give us their precious time. Not many clubs can say the same.
As you may have seen online or been asked at a game we’ve recently been getting the votes in for the MUDSA Player of the Year 2019 and with a landslide victory Scott McTominay picked up the Trophy this year. Two young attendees presented the award to Scott who was incredibly thankful to have won.
After all the players had visited everyone and the members had collected their photos and had their items signed it was left to Chas to give us his wise words before Mark gave thanks to all those who make this special day run so smoothly.
On behalf of the committee and all those who attended I’d like to thank Ann Marie as mentioned earlier who is the main organiser and does a fantastic job, Mark Jones himself helping the event run smoothly and announcing the players, Claire Robson & Jackie Kay (they organised the players coming down). All the players (especially David De Gea who came down on his day off), Wigwam for providing the PA system, Liz Baker & John Peters for photography, Paul Smethurst and Andrea for the superb food and of course all the staff at Old Trafford from the security to those running the bar and clearing the tables.
This was a fantastic day as always where dreams are literally made to come true. We look forward to hosting again next year so enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful Christmas everyone.
